Valuation Expo is in the books for 2013. We were happy to have had exceedingly strong attendance this year. Our Collateral Risk Network meeting on Tuesday was the largest ever. We received a lot of positive reviews about the networking on the tradeshow floor and our continuing education format. We also had a 7 hr. national USPAP class presented by our platinum sponsor, ACI.
This year we added a debate format for our "Appraisal Quality"panel. Lee Trice moderated the panel with representation from multiple stakeholders. Differing, and sometimes conflicting points of view made for some drama! Drama is great when it is the afternoon session and interest is waning. Joshua Walitt, a first timer, said, "I did enjoy the debate format, since it was different than other presentations and allowed for more questions from the audience."
Greg Stephens from Metro-West Appraisal Co., LLC was awarded our 2013 Valuation Visionary Award and gave a memorable and moving acceptance speech.
We had some great reviews of the tradeshow floor. There was a lot of networking opportunities available to attendees and exhibitors. Jeff Bradford, CEO of Bradford Technologies said, "Congratulations on a super conference. This is probably the best conference we have attended in the last 10 years – maybe ever. It was organized exceptionally well - please pass on my congratulations to your entire staff."
It was not all work and no play at Valuation Expo this year. Several of our exhibitors and sponsors hosted some really great cocktail parties and social events outside of the conference. We wanted to thank them for the time and resources put towards creating such great events.
We had the Second Annual Cornhole Tournament this year and the winning team was Tom Schurer and David Schmidt. Those Real VS guys are pretty serious about corn hole. Well, so are we! We get to bring the boards back to the office and practice all year long.
We had some amazing prizes donated by our exhibitors in the Appraisal Bee this year. Below is a list of winners and prizes this year.

I can honestly say, from our perspective, this was one of the smoothest events ever. No one complained and there was a tremendous positive vibe. Everybody was busy networking and commerce was alive and well.
We are hoping to build on our success as we get ready for the 15th Valuation Expo which will be held June 23rd-25th 2014. See you next year!
