The results of the April Foolery Contest are in! We are impressed with the creativity of all the submissions. We are pleased to award free Valuation Expo passes to the authors of the best poem, comic, and video about Valuation Expo or the Appraisal Industry as a whole. We were overwhelmed with the responses from appraisers across the country. We were finally able to narrow it down to one winner in each category. We also wanted to recognize some of the finalists who submitted some great entries.

With most of the nation covered in ice and frigid temperatures, we know a lot of you have started daydreaming about Summer and warm weather already. We have too, and we wanted to fill you in on some of the great reasons to attend Valuation Expo 2014 in Las Vegas this Summer. Valuation Expo is the biggest appraisal industry conference and is celebrating its 15th Anniversary. Here are some of the reasons you won’t want to miss out!

Wow, I am just recovering from my trip to Las Vegas to present at our Third Party Oversight Summit, along with Tony Pistilli at Axios, Peter Christensen of LIA Liability Insurance Administrators and Helge Hukari of Clear Capital. In spite of some crazy weather we had a packed house and actually oversold this event. Based upon our strong registrations and positive feedback we will be organizing a whole series on compliance next year. I wanted to take some time to let everyone know what was discussed at this event.

Update I am pleased to report that we are currently on track to have one of our largest events in years. On one hand, given the state of the economy that is an amazing feat.
