Technology is constantly growing and improving to help the appraisal industry keep up with the world around it. a la mode recently released a new mobile app to help appraisers eliminate common delays. We were lucky enough to catch up with Jennifer Miller of a la mode to find out more about this new mobile app.
Buzz: Jennifer, can you tell our readers a little bit about your career history leading up to your current position?
Jennifer: I've been with a la mode for several years in different roles and I have a systems administration background, so technology has always been my focus. I'm responsible for a la mode's Mercury Network vendor management platform, which means I lead the team of people who develop and support the vendor management platform chosen by over 600 of the nation's lenders and AMCs.
Buzz: How does your new Mercury Mobile app make life easier for appraisers?
Jennifer: Mercury Mobile gives appraisers the ability to respond to new Mercury Network orders instantly, so they don't risk losing opportunities. Since they're often busy in the field doing inspections, they couldn't immediately accept new orders, negotiate terms of an order, or decline an order while they were away from their PCs. Their clients were waiting on responses, and sometimes appraisers were losing orders just because they expired before the appraiser got back to their PC. The app gives appraisers the ability to accept, negotiate, or decline those orders instantly while in the field, and it eliminates the client's waiting period so they can rest assured their order is underway.
Buzz: Where can people go to download the app? Is there a cost for it?
Jennifer: It's free, and it's available now in the Apple App Store HERE. An Android version is coming very soon, so appraisers using Android should stay tuned for that as well.
Buzz: How does the app assist lenders and AMCs with their appraisal ordering?
Jennifer: Lenders and AMCs using Mercury Network will have much faster operations. And since Mercury Network is used for over 20,000 appraisal orders a day by over 600 of the nation's lenders and AMCs, Mercury Mobile will have a significant and immediate effect on the entire industry's efficiency and turn times.
Mercury Mobile is a good example of the difference between a mobile app that can truly have an impact across an entire industry, and just a "cool app". Since more appraisers nationwide use our software than all other brands combined, and since it's backed by the training, support, and distribution network that can get mass adoption, Mercury Mobile really has the power to eliminate an industry-wide problem.
Buzz: How does the new Mercury Mobile app work with a la mode's TOTAL for Mobile app?
Jennifer: TOTAL for Mobile is really the industry-dominating mobile appraisal inspection and sketching app, and with both apps, the appraiser can handle the entire order-to-inspection cycle onsite on an iPad, further cutting turn times. a la mode has a long history of mobile innovation, and we'll continue to push the envelope so appraisers continue to get even more powerful, profitable, and efficient with mobile applications.
Buzz: If appraisers need assistance with the app or have any more questions about it, whom should they contact?
Jennifer: They can call our 24x7x365 live support lines any time for help with the app, and there's a lot more information about it on our website HERE.
Buzz: Thank you so much for your time I am sure our subscribers will be excited to check out the new app.
